Turner Prize exhibition connects to Skye and Raasay restaurants
In 2021 Cooking Sections were nominated for the Turner Prize. Alongside their exhibition at Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry alongside the other nominated artists, restaurants in museums across the UK are Becoming CLIMAVORE, a form of eating that responds to human alterations of the planet’s climate. In participating restaurants, farmed salmon has been removed from the menu and replaced with ingredients that improve soil and water quality, while cultivating marine habitats.
For the duration of the Turner Prize exhibition you can taste CLIMAVORE dishes in the cafes of participating institutions and in the restaurants in Skye and Raasay, and collect the 12 postcards to build a Becoming CLIMAVORE poster.
Eleven restaurants in Skye and Raasay are part of the Turner Prize, with CLIMAVORE collecting their waste shells, which will be transformed into a unique BodyBound tile and given to the restaurant as testimony to their trailblazing role in the project.
